How the Energy Around You Shapes Your Health:

Protecting Your Biofield in a Chaotic World

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt a heavy, tense energy, as though you could "cut the air with a knife"? Or, on the flip side, left a gathering feeling unexpectedly uplifted and energized? That experience is more than a vibe or intuition—it’s your biofield talking.

I’ve witnessed firsthand how the energy and emotions of those around us can profoundly impact our physical and emotional well-being. In fact, your biofield—an electromagnetic field of energy that surrounds and interacts with your body—is constantly exchanging information with the biofields of others. While this interaction can foster connection, it can also negatively impact your health if you’re not careful.

This concept is especially important as we kick off the 90-Day Self-Care Challenge. Over the next three months, we’ll dive deep into how taking care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual health can help protect your biofield from the toxic influences of your environment and those people around you. Let’s start with understanding what’s really going on when you feel drained, irritable, or out of balance after being around certain people—and what you can do about it.

The Science of Shared Emotions

Science is beginning to catch up to what many of us have instinctively known for centuries: emotions are contagious. Studies have shown that humans can "smell" emotional states like fear, anger, or sadness through subtle chemical signals in sweat and breath. When you’re around someone who is angry or anxious, for example, their biofield emits these emotional "signals," which can trigger a similar response in your own body.

This isn’t just an emotional reaction; it’s a physiological one. Your brain interprets these signals and activates systems in your body to mirror the emotional state of the person nearby. For someone already feeling irritated or anxious, this exposure can amplify their emotions, creating a compounded effect. It’s why someone stuck in a mindset of anger or negativity often doesn’t understand why they feel even worse in certain environments.

If left unchecked, these repeated biofield exchanges can contribute to:

  • Chronic stress

  • Fatigue

  • Emotional instability

  • Physical symptoms like headaches, digestive issues, or poor immune response

Protecting Your Biofield: A Holistic Approach

The good news is that you’re not powerless. Your biofield is dynamic, and its health depends on how well you care for your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Here’s how to strengthen it:

1. Physical Health: Nourish Your Body

Your body is your first line of defense against the impacts of external energy. Hydration, detoxification, and immune support are key.

  • Drink herbal tea: Hydration helps flush toxins and debris from your system. Teas like Tulsi, Ginger, or Green Tea support liver function, clear cellular receptors, and boost your immune system, making your body more resilient to outside influences.

  • Nutrition: Fuel your body with nutrient-dense, whole foods. This helps fortify your physical health and strengthens your energy reserves.

  • Movement: Exercise improves circulation, helping to release stagnant energy and toxins.

2. Emotional Health: Master Your Mindset

Your emotional state shapes how your biofield interacts with others. If you’re already angry or anxious, you’ll be more susceptible to picking up similar energies.

  • Practice awareness: Reflect on your emotional state and notice how you feel after interacting with certain people or environments.

  • Release stress: Journaling, meditation, or deep breathing can help regulate emotions and prevent external negativity from taking root.

3. Spiritual Health: Connect to Your Core

A strong spiritual foundation acts as an anchor, grounding your energy in the face of external influences.

  • Prayer or meditation: These practices help align your biofield with positive, calming energy.

  • Spiritual self-care: Spend time reflecting on your purpose and values to maintain a sense of balance and harmony.

Why This Matters: The 90-Day Self-Care Challenge

Throughout the next 90 days, we’ll explore tools and strategies to help you minimize the negative impact of others’ biofields on your life. Understanding how your energy interacts with others is just one part of the puzzle. Together, we’ll focus on:

  • Creating boundaries to protect your emotional space

  • Using holistic remedies, like herbal teas, to detoxify your body and strengthen your immune system

  • Practicing mindfulness to become more aware of how your biofield reacts to different environments

  • Building daily habits that fortify your physical, emotional, and spiritual health

The goal is to empower you to take charge of your energy and your health, even in the midst of chaos.

A Personal Journey

As someone who has personally applied these principles to my own life, I can attest to their transformative power. I chronicle my journey in my book, The Breadcrumb Trail: A Journey from Illness to Wholeness. Our health isn’t just about the physical—it’s about aligning your body, emotions, and spirit.

I began to learn to identify the emotional triggers that come from my environment and how to detoxify—physically and emotionally—so that I can show up as my best self. And tea has played a huge role in this journey.

Every sip is an act of self-care:

  • Hydration supports my body’s natural detoxification processes.

  • Herbal blends stimulate liver function and help clear out cellular “noise.”

  • Ingredients like Echinacea and Licorice Root boost my immune system, giving me the strength to handle whatever comes my way.

By caring for my body, emotions, and spirit, I’ve built a more resilient biofield—one that’s better equipped to thrive no matter the challenges around me.

Take the First Step

Angel ALWAYS takes the time to listen to my needs, explain the reasons she is recommending a particular product and even creates products just for my symptoms. I always leave there knowing I have been in good hands and continue to return for the same reason. If you are looking for teas, oils, rubs or lotions, Angel is super knowledgeable and will lead you down the path that is right for you!

You would be hard pressed to find a person more passionate about her beliefs in treating the source and not the symptoms as related to overall health. Her shop is worthy of a visit and a conversation about health.
