Healing Foundations - Self-Love
Healing Foundations

Our emotions and self-love play a crucial role in shaping our overall health.

When we experience prolonged negative emotions like stress, fear, or self-doubt, it can manifest physically, contributing to chronic conditions, weakened immune function, and even poor digestive health. These emotions trigger the body's stress response, increasing cortisol levels, which, over time, can lead to inflammation and hormone imbalances. On the other hand, practicing self-love and nurturing positive emotions creates a healing environment within the body. This sets the healing foundation. When we actively engage in self-care, accept ourselves, and focus on positive mental states, our bodies are better equipped to heal and restore balance. Positive emotions release beneficial hormones like endorphins and oxytocin, which promote relaxation, reduce inflammation, and improve immune function. Ultimately, our mindset and emotional health can determine whether we recover or continue to struggle with illness, making self-love a vital component of our healing journey.

Do you have a “heart wall”?

Many people unknowingly carry this emotional block, which separates them from others and from their own capacity for healing. A Heart Wall is often a subconscious self-protection mechanism we create when we've been hurt. Each painful experience adds another layer to this wall, shielding us from the immediate pain but also blocking us from positive emotions like love, joy, and connection. While it may seem like a good solution at first, this emotional barrier can have negative effects on our health. Just as negative emotions impact our physical well-being, the heart wall prevents us from fully experiencing self-love and emotional healing. Without breaking down this wall, it becomes harder to recover and improve our health, as true healing requires us to be emotionally open and receptive.

  • Do you have defensive HEART energy?

  • Defensive MIND energy?

  • Are you always watching for “an attack”?

  • Are you someone who says “I’m fine” even when you are not?

  • Do you limit what you share with friends and family.?

Let's get in touch with your INNER dialogue…

What do you say out loud, and what do you say to yourself? The words we speak, both to others and within our own minds, are powerful reflections of our thoughts and beliefs. Whether positive or negative, what we consistently tell ourselves shapes how we feel on the inside. If we speak words of self-doubt or criticism, we reinforce negative emotions like fear and anxiety, which can directly impact our physical health. On the other hand, speaking words of self-love, encouragement, and faith fosters a sense of peace and well-being. These thoughts and beliefs guide our emotions, influencing everything from our mood to our body’s ability to heal. Ultimately, the dialogue we maintain with ourselves can either build emotional walls or tear them down, determining whether we stagnate in illness or move toward health and recovery.

Awareness

This is the first step in the healing process because you can't heal what you aren't aware of. Our mind, or ego, has a deep need to be right, and once it forms a belief—whether conscious or subconscious, correct or incorrect—it works to prove that belief true. This creates situations in our lives that fulfill whatever we believe, whether it’s “I’m not important,” “My feelings don’t matter,” or “I’m hard to love.” These limiting beliefs, if left unchallenged, become self-fulfilling prophecies, reinforcing the negative emotions that harm our health. When the mind feels validated in being "right," it gives us a false sense of control, making it seem like we’re in charge of our lives when, in reality, we’re trapped in destructive cycles. This cycle not only limits our success but also inhibits our healing by keeping us stuck in unhealthy emotional patterns. Awareness helps us break free from this cycle, opening the door to self-love and true healing.

Ways to Begin the Healing Process:

Healing begins with awareness and the willingness to challenge the limiting beliefs you may hold about yourself. To move forward, accept that some of the things you believe about yourself may be incorrect or harmful. Embrace the desire to reach your highest potential and take daily steps toward improving your self-image and care:

  • List 5 things you LOVE about yourself every morning.

  • Look in the mirror, make eye contact with yourself, and say “I LOVE YOU” out loud, repeating it 7-10 times.

  • Speak to yourself with gentleness and compassion, as you would to a small child. If you notice you are being harsh or demanding, apologize to yourself and correct the tone. Harshness creates tension in the body and blocks the natural flow of energy and lymph.

  • Self-hug: First with the left arm on top, then switch to the right arm on top. Hold for 30-60 seconds each time, and focus on how this feels in your body. It may feel awkward at first, but over time, you will notice an internal shift that signals you are ready for deeper healing.

As you continue this practice, remember:

  • Awareness is key. Become an observer of your conversations, both with others and with yourself.

  • Listen to your spoken words. Hear how you talk to yourself—gently, harshly, lovingly, or destructively? This trains you to recognize your self-talk.

  • Thoughts: By listening to your self-talk, you can trace it back to the thoughts and beliefs behind it. Negative thoughts often create the emotions that fuel this inner dialogue.

  • Feelings: Recognizing your feelings is essential, as they often trigger the thoughts that influence how you talk to yourself. Healing begins when you rewrite the internal storyline with self-love, compassion, and understanding.

Through these steps, you can begin to dismantle emotional walls, reframe limiting beliefs, and create a foundation for true emotional and physical healing.

Natural Remedies:

Once you make the decision to focus on your health and commit to the steps outlined above, it’s important to support your body in this transformative process. One powerful yet gentle way to do so is through herbal tea. Herbal teas nurture the mind, body, and spirit, offering a grounding element because they are gifts from nature. The herbs in tea work with the body in a gentle, yet effective way, supporting detox pathways and natural healing processes. As you shift your thought patterns and emotions, your body will also begin to process and release the chemicals these changes produce. Herbal tea can aid in this process by facilitating detoxification, calming the mind, and offering comfort and relaxation, helping you to nurture both body and soul as you heal.

Some blends that can help:

  • Lavender Chamomile Tea

  • Calm - Cortisol Reducing Blend

  • Liver Cleanse Blend

  • Matters of the Heart Blend

In addition to tea, our tinctures provide concentrated herbal support to assist your body in adapting to these changes. Tinctures, like our Calm Brain Tincture or Bee Propolis, work alongside teas to support mental clarity, reduce stress, and bolster the immune system, helping you achieve a deeper level of healing and balance. These tools together can create a holistic foundation for long-lasting wellness.

Nurse Coaching:

Navigating this journey of emotional, physical, and spiritual healing can feel overwhelming, but this is where nurse coaching becomes invaluable. A nurse coach can provide the guidance, support, and expertise needed to help you implement these life-changing steps. As a trained professional with a holistic approach, a nurse coach understands the mind-body connection and can help you identify limiting beliefs, establish healthy routines, and stay accountable on your path to healing. They offer a compassionate presence, helping you make sense of your emotions, guiding you through self-care practices, and supporting your body's detox and recovery processes. With their assistance, you can move forward with confidence, knowing you are taking the right steps toward wholeness and well-being. Nurse coaching is not just about health—it’s about empowering you to become your healthiest, most vibrant self in mind, body, and spirit.

Points to Ponder:

  • The world is the same every day. What changes is our perspective and state of mind. It’s our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs that feed our anxieties, self-doubt, and struggles. By shifting how we see the world, we begin to change our reality.

  • Our ultimate, often unconscious, goal is to come to understand who we truly are—to return to a state of wholeness. This harmony of mind, body, and spirit is what brings peace, health, and fulfillment.

  • If you find that negative conditions in your life persist and the same patterns repeat over and over, it’s a signal that you are out of harmony. The disharmony in your emotional or spiritual life manifests in these repeated experiences, showing you the areas that need healing.

Illness directs you back to balance. Just as physical pain tells us something is wrong in the body, emotional or spiritual pain lets us know we are out of alignment with God, nature, and our own inner truth.
